What is epistemic truth? How do you know that what you know is true? How to fight information disorders such as fake news or conspiracy theories? Are strong educational background, high literacy level, good sourcing abilities or reasoning skills protecting us from being gullible? What are the links between emotions, knowledge, partisanship and truthfulness? Are there specific types of interventions that could improve critical thinking and decrease credulity?
In this one-day interdisciplinary symposium at the Université Libre de Bruxelles we aim to bring together specialists from social sciences and humanities concerned with these questions. If you are working in these areas and are interested in presenting your research, please submit an abstract for a 10-15 minute talk.
