Early career publication award for PhD students 2020

The ESCoP Early Career Publication Award for PhD students 2020  was given to Pieter Verbeke from Ghent University (Belgium).

Awarded paper: Verbeke, P., & Verguts, T. (2019). Learning to synchronize: How biological agents can couple neural task modules for dealing with the stability-plasticity dilemma. PLoS computational biology, 15(8), e1006604.

The paper is an excellent modelling paper which makes clear and testable predictions related to state-of-the-art EEG data data. The paper follows an interesting proof of concept and combines theoretical ideas on binding and reinforcement learning in an interesting way. Congratulations!
