Assistant Professor of Psychology, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA

The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Psychology, with a specialisation in Cognitive Psychology, beginning in Fall 2023. We welcome all applicants with research interests that complement and expand ongoing work in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience at Lehigh. Candidates should have an earned doctorate (or be in candidacy with a degree expected no later than the date of hire).

We are particularly excited about candidates doing use-inspired basic research that takes inspiration from complex real-world problems to test and refine theories of human cognition and that applies laboratory findings to the solution of practical problems. We welcome qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Candidates will be expected to maintain a high-quality and productive research program that will attract external funding; to provide high-quality teaching and research mentorship at both the undergraduate and graduate level; and to demonstrate a strong commitment to creating an inclusive environment and promoting the success of students from racial and ethnic groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in academia.

Application deadline: 1 October 2022
