We are looking for a PhD student in a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) that investigates the modulation of attentional bias towards emotional faces by a social-processing mode. More specifically, we will examine whether the degree to which emotional faces capture attention is affected by the degree to which the current task/situation requires processing of social information. The project is located at the intersection of the fields of cognitive and social psychology. The research questions will be examined in behavioral, eye-tracking, and EEG experiments. The applicant will be supervised by Dr. Benedikt Wirth and Prof. dr. dr. Dirk Wentura. Application deadline is the 15th of January 2022.
