We seek candidates for an open PhD student position at the laboratory for Cognitive and Experimental Psychology at Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany. Salary will be according to TVL-13 (65%, 3 years, funded by DFG), starting in spring (March or April) 2020. The position is embedded within a project examining fast and unintentional reactions to emotional expressions (supervised by Prof. Dirk Wentura and Dr. Andrea Paulus). The project is located at the intersection between cognitive psychology, social psychology, and emotional psychology. The project will focus on behavioral data but will also include psychophysiological measures (startle reflex). Candidates should have completed a Master’s degree in Psychology and have expertise in experimental psychology and an interest in cognitive psychology. We expect good knowledge of statistics and an excellent command of English. Experiences developing experimental paradigms (e.g. in E-Prime, Inquisit, or another interface) are not mandatory but would be helpful. Application deadline is prolonged to the 15th of February.
