Online event
We're reaching out to invite you to the new online International Cognitive Development Seminar Series, organised by Dr Agnieszka Graham (Queen's University Belfast) and Dr Alicia Forsberg (The University of Sheffield).
Our vision for the series is to:
- Connect researchers, practitioners, and students, to foster collaboration and share expertise in cognitive development.
- Ensure accessibility for a broad audience, including those with travel limitations.
- Showcase the latest research findings, highlighting advances and emerging trends in the field.
- Provide insights into cognitive development from various cultural contexts, enhancing understanding of both universal and culture-specific aspects.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative approaches in cognitive development research.
We plan to host three events each semester, each centred around a specific theme. Our inaugural theme will focus on translating developmental and cognitive research into real-world impact. Upcoming themes include Open Sciences practises and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in cognitive developmental research (and, we'd love to be guided by attendee input and suggestions).
We are incredibly excited to announce our first speaker, Prof Susan Gathercole, University of Cambridge "Working Memory in Education: Translating Research into Policy and Practice", at 2 pm BST, 29th of October.
Our December speaker is Dr Alice Kim, Chair of Psychology, University of Guelph-Humber; Managing Director, Teaching and Learning Research In Action, tlraction.com: From Theory to Practice: Applying Cognitive Research to Elevate Teaching and Learning 10 am ET/3 pm BST, 17th of December.
