The Statistics in Psychology Team at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) is looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate. The post involves research and teaching-related tasks. The team studies the cognitive processes underlying the production, comprehension, and learning of language, their links with other cognitive functions and their evolution across the life span. 

This project will be led by Dr. Tanja Roembke. The Co-Pi will be Prof. Dr. Iring Koch. The project title is “Bilingual flexibility: The impact of dispositional and situational language balance on bilinguals' word learning of a third language”. The goal of the project is to better understand the cognitive mechanisms underlying bilinguals' ability to learn flexibly via their first or their second language. 

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in Geneva (Switzerland), with flexible start date between May and September 2026 (90%, up to 2.5 years). The successful applicant will work with Prof. Dr. Evie Vergauwe (University of Geneva, Switzerland) and Prof. Dr. Jarrod Lewis-Peacock (University of Texas at Austin, USA) on a research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
