Call for papers on conflict adaptation across single- and multi-tasking paradigms in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning Memory & Cognition

We are excited to announce a call for papers for the special issue “Conflict adaptation across single-task and multi-tasking paradigms”, in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning Memory & Cognition. The special issue aims at integrating research on how humans adapt control in response to cognitive conflict across conflict tasks, task-switching and dual-tasking paradigms.

In particular, we invite empirical and theoretical contributions focusing on:

- Adaptation triggered by conflict at different levels of the processing stream (e.g., response conflict, task conflict).

- The mechanism underlying sustained control adaptation in multi-tasking settings.

- The relationship between cognitive stability and flexibility.

The deadline for initial submissions is October 1, 2026. The full call for papers can be found at: https://www.apa.org/pubs/journals/xlm/conflict-adaptation
