Call for Commentaries in Special Issue: The Debate on the Unconscious in Lie Detection

Can unconscious thought boost lie detection accuracy? This special issue in Frontiers in Psychology aims to formalize this debate with two target articles taking contrasting views.

We would like to invite you to contribute to the debate with a short commentary article addressing one or both of the target articles. No new data is required.

Stel, Schwarz, van Dijk and van Knippenberg ( 2020 ) present evidence that deliberative conscious processing can hinder accurate detection of the truth. Levine ( 2019 ) in contrast argues that the evidence for unconscious lie detection to date is unconvincing.
