Stel, Schwarz, van Dijk and van Knippenberg ( 2020 ) present evidence that deliberative conscious processing can hinder accurate detection of the truth. Levine ( 2019 ) in contrast argues that the evidence for unconscious lie detection to date is unconvincing.
