Research positions (1 Postdoc, 2 PhD) — DFG Research Unit “Bilingual Flexibility” (RWTH Aachen, Biological & Social Psychology), RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany

The Biological & Social Psychology group (Prof. Dr. Anna K. Kuhlen) at RWTH Aachen University invites applications for research positions within the DFG Research Unit “Bilingual Flexibility — The Psychology of Language Control”: one 4 year Postdoc (full time) and two 4 year PhD positions (75% or full time).

We investigate how bilingual speakers flexibly balance languages in social interaction and multi-speaker settings using behavioural and neuroscientific methods (EEG). The postdoc will lead and co design behavioural & EEG experiments, co-supervise PhD students, coordinate EEG lab activities and develop RU infrastructure (data management, participant platform, events). PhD candidates will conduct experimental and EEG studies, analyse data, publish and participate in RU activities.

We offer a stimulating academic environment within our newly established research unit (and beyond), modern facilities (including experimental settings for multi participant experiments and the possibility for EEG hyperscanning), supportive mentoring, teaching opportunities and extensive national/international collaborations.
