Cognitive Science Arena

Bressanone (Brixen), Italy
5-7 February 2026

The Cognitive Science Arena (CSA, 14th edition) is a unique international conference designed for early-career researchers in cognitive science, including master’s students, PhDs, and postdocs. Unlike traditional scientific meetings, CSA gives the spotlight exclusively to young scholars, fostering an environment where they can present innovative ideas, ongoing projects, or bold, high-risk research. Senior scientists attend only as listeners and discussants, creating a supportive space for constructive dialogue and peer-to-peer exchange.

The atmosphere is deliberately informal, cooperative, and interactive. Talks and posters are given generous discussion time, enriched by audience feedback through both open debates and anonymous written comments. Creative formats—such as short poster pitches, reciprocal chairing roles, and audience-voted awards—emphasize engagement and collaboration over competition.

Set in the alpine town of Brixen, CSA blends rigorous scientific exchange with a friendly and collegial spirit, including social events that strengthen connections among participants. It is a place where promising young minds meet, challenge, and inspire each other.

The Cognitive Science Arena promotes, endorses and disseminates Open Science practices.
