Results for the 2026 ESCoP Early Career Publication Award for PhD students!

We are excited to announce the winner of the 2026 ESCoP Early Career Publication Award for PhD students! Following the review of 14 highly competitive submissions, the evaluation committee—Luca Rinaldi, Gaen Plancher, and Philipp Musfeld—reached a unanimous decision to recognize Johan A. Achard and colleagues for their remarkable paper, "Extending continuous flow models of immediate decision reports to delayed decision reports" (Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, 2025). This paper was selected for the ESCoP Early Career Publication Award for PhD students (2026) as it provides an elegant and theoretically important extension of continuous flow models of decision-making by integrating evidence accumulation, working memory, and motor control into a unified framework for delayed decision reports. Combining sophisticated computational modeling with behavioral and electromyographic measures, the study offers a highly innovative contribution to our understanding of how decisions are maintained and translated into action over time.
